The idea of progress

How did people perceive AIDS before and how does it is it perceived now?

.

AIDS is a disease that destroys the immune system. The virus was discovered in the 1900s 1990s? in Cameroon Pourquoi Le Cameroun? et pourquoi les années 1990 alors que on commençait à en parler au début des années 1980!. There are several types of HIV, but the modes of transmission are the same: through sex, through blood, and from the mother to the child if the mother is infected. But how was this disease perceived at the time and how is it perceived today?

.

Before, we knew almost nothing about the disease, how it was transmitted. People thought with just a handshake you could catch him. This disease formed generated a kind of racism as in the film Philadelphia, Mr. Beckett is dismissed because he was diagnosed with AIDS, for this injustice he wants to sue them. All this to say that before, AIDS was very bad badly seen that as some people thought that just shared the same look that Je n'ai pas compris cette partie de la phrase a person with AIDS or give him a handshake by simply shaking hands with them, you could be contaminated by them.

A lot of time has passed and research has been done on the AIDS virus, and it was discovered that it could not be transmitted by a simple handshake or breathing the same air as a person with AIDS. Treatment exists today for people who are waiting infected , this allows them to live a "normal life”.

.

Following this we can talk about homophobia because before it was inconceivable to see two people of the same sex together and have having a more than a friendly relationship. Homosexuals were either put in jail or sentenced to death.

Today homosexuality is not accepted everywhere, in some countries homosexuals are locked up in prison where we condemn them to death. But in other countries they are totally accepted and they can get married. But still today there is a form of discrimination against them.

.

All this to say that as time goes on people’s opinions change, especially for regarding AIDS and, as a result of all the research done and the analyses, were we're able to discover how AIDS was is transmitted and thus stop all forms of discrimination against infected people. For homophobia, this is also a complicated subject as it was almost normal to be homophobic at the time. But today homosexuality is something normal are with just two people who love each other. But there are still today unfortunately homophobic people **today.
