"became a well-known and create a new social morality" =} "well-known disease and created a new social morality", "thought", "frowned"
"unknow disease" =} "unknown disease

The idea of progress
Why was AIDS recognized as a "disgusting" disease?
Around the 1990s, AIDS became a well-known disease and created a new social morality Je n'ai pas compris le sens de ces 2 mots in the society of the time, as evidenced by seen/shown in the film Philadelphia. So why is this disease recognized as repugnant?
An unknown disease at that time.
At that time, the disease developed considerably and everyone became aware of AIDS. A It was a serious disease, where and at the time, we didn't know how it was transmitted and so everyone thought as they wished about how it was transmitted. We thought that a simple handshake could transmit the virus to us. So those who had the virus were frowned upon when they said hello for example, (like in Philadelphia when Andrew Beckett shook hands with Joe Miller).
