La durée est parfaite (5:00 mins),
Quelques erreurs à éviter comme "Today I going to present…" =} "Today I'm going to present…", ou "the coconut oil", "and more particularly the question who which is….", "We have do …" =} "We have done, "before brushing with toothpaste don't work" =} "before brushing with toothpaste which didn't work"
Attention à la prononciation de certains mots comme "toothpaste", "theme", "used", " case studies", "knowledge", "known", "prove", "allow", "comrade", "MIC", "colonies",
oil-pulling =} oil extraction
experimence =} experiment
one dot five =} one point five
ten power six =} ten to the power of six

COCONUT OIL.

1 Introduction and research made:
THE BENEFITS OF COCONUT OIL.
Since last year, the theme we have chosen to work on has always been that of coconut oil.
As coconut oil has many benefits, it can be used in many ways and therefore this has allowed us to keep a wide range of case studies on our topic.
This oil is used in the food and cosmetic industries.
During the first sessions devoted to research on the subject we were able to enrich our knowledge on the use of this coconut oil, we discovered the famous technique of oïl pulling.
If we chose this topic it is also because, even if the benefits of this oil are more and more known, we have not been able to find concrete evidence to prove and explain its benefits.
At first we wanted to work on the theme of cosmetics, then finally we refocused our choice on the inhibitory powers of this oil in contact with bacteria and toxins in the mouth.
The problem we formulated would allow us to develop around one of the powers of coconut oil among many others. so the final problematic have do whit my comrade is the next : Does the "oïl pulling" method, in the context of a coconut oil mouthwash, improve the inhibition of bacteria in the mouth before brushing with toothpaste?
2 Experiments released:
To answer to this question we made a lot of hypothetical experiment and decide to do these ones:
for the first section whit my comrade we have do the experiment next :
- Control of the purity of the products to be tested
We test the purity of the following products for know if yes or no he got bacteria , toothpaste, mouthwash & coconut oil on GTS.
- Observation of the types of microorganisms present in our mouths
for that all the student tests the microorganisms in their mouths on blood agar, GTS, Sabouraud & Chapman.
- Enumeration of bacteria present in our mouths
This experiment is carried out on pca agar before and after the use of one of the products to be tested. ( pca = Plate Count Agar)
For the second section whit my comrade we have do the experiment next :
- MIC (Minimum Inhibitory Concentration) of coconut oil
For this experiment, the minimum inhibitory concentration of coconut oil is determined for 3 types of microorganisms (Candida albican, Staphylococcus Aureus and E. coli).
- Coconut oil inhibition test on different media and different microorganisms
The inhibitory power of coconut oil is tested by comparing two cans with the same medium but a different microorganism.
The microorganisms use for this experiment are (Candida albican, Staphylococcus Aureus and E. coli) and the agar are (Chapman and Sabouraud)
And the last session whit all classe we do the EXPERIMENT NEXT
Group session:
-Determine the MIC of coconut oil in a liquid medium
For this experiment the minimum inhibitory concentration of coconut oil is determined for 3 types of microorganism (Candida albican, Staphylococcus Aureus and E. coli).
-Evaluation of the bactericidal activity of coconut oil by dilution-neutralization method.
This experiment is done in a PCA environment (surfusion).
-Study of e.coli growth in the presence of coconut oil.
For this experiment we observe the growth at the spectrphotometer between the E.coli whit coconut oil and the E.coli without coconut oil
-Verification of all the microorganisms present in coconut oil in the medium (PCA, Chapman, Sabouraud) are poured over droplets of melted coconut oil.
3 Why we do an colony count:
We did this experiment in order to know if the technical of oil pulling can could or not inhibit bacteria as we have seen on forums and specialized sites.
So we tried several products including listerine and tooth brushing with toothpaste to count it is test to know the difference of bacteria destruction in the mouth.
4 interpretation of all the experiment we do in the lab.
Control of the purity of the products to be tested : We have see the product used contained for the coconut and the listerine bacteria we have do this experiment 2 times but we supposed for the listerine that the object was infected .
Observation of the types of microorganisms present in our mouths: No know what is the type of bacteria and the name because he got a lot of bacteria in the mouth but we have see that people absolutely did not have the same oral flora.
- Enumeration of bacteria present in our mouths: Thanks to our data, we know that coconut oil has absolutely no inhibitory power, the value was for this test 2,7multiply by 10 power 6 whit treatment and 2,36multiply by 10 power6 whitout treatment
for the Brushing teeth whit treatment we got 1,1multiply by 10 power 5 and whitout N>3,0 multiply by 10 power 6
And for finish Mouthwash treatment whit 1,5 multiply by 10 power 5 and whitout 1,2 multiply by 10 power 6
Coconut oil inhibition test on different media and different microorganisms : we have see that the coconut oil and the bacteria doesn't be inhibitate by the cocounut oil because he have most bacteria in the agar whit coconut oil .
MIC (Minimum Inhibitory Concentration) of coconut oil: in this experiment the first time he have a probleme so the result of the test doesn't work.
Evaluation of the bactericidal activity of coconut oil by dilution-neutralization method: the test proved that the coconut oil didn't work because he got a lot of bacteriat in the dilution-neutralization.
Determine the MIC of coconut oil in a liquid medium: for the second time we have see that the bacteria didn't have stop by the coconut oil because in all the concentration we can see bacteria for all the test .
Study of e.coli growth in the presence of coconut oil: this experiment can be proved that the coconut oil didn't inhibitated all the bacteria because he got a lot of absorption whit the test who have the E.coli whit the coconut oil.
Verification of all the microorganisms present in coconut oil in the medium (PCA, Chapman, Sabouraud) are poured over droplets of melted coconut oil. this test have the same result that the seconde session.
5 Conclusion:
Thanks to the multiple test carried out during this year we have therefore been able to conclude on the problematic for remember the problematique is the next Does the "oïl pulling" method, in the context of a coconut oil mouthwash, improve the inhibition of bacteria in the mouth before brushing with toothpaste? The answer is no because we could see that coconut oil did not absolutely inhibit bacteria but it did the opposite, that is to say to make them grow faster than we imagined. So the oil pulling method is not to do because it is a waste of time already and in addition it could worsen the health of people who do this mouthwash.
