The idea of progress

I’ m going to deal with the notion idea of progress. I will talk about the AIDS which is an infectious disease characterized by a progressive reduction in the immune system. It can be transmitted during sexual intercourse or when the contaminated blood is in contact with the blood of the an other uncontaminated person. My problematic **problem-question is __the following : what extent does the AIDS progress change our vision of the others and of the world **Je n'ai pas compris le sens de cette phrase ? In the 1st part we are going to see how AIDS was seen at the time then in a second part we are going to see how AIDS cliches are mitigated today.

After watching the film Philadelphia, which is dates back to 1993. The film talk is about Andrew Beckett who is a brilliant lawyer. He is a homosexual. His early career in the law firm of Charles Wheeler and Associates, one of the largest law firms in Philadelphia (Pennsylvania), was promising. But one day, he’s fired for malpractice. Convinced that he was expelled because he has AIDS, Andrew decides to attack the cabinet for wrongful dismissal. No lawyer wanted to hear the case, so he resigned himself to defending himself. Until the day when Joe Miller, a black lawyer and initially homophobic who initially refused to defend Andrew, finally decided to take charge of the case. With this film we are going to see the that AIDS in the twentieth century and even before was very frowned upon and we can even talk about racism against these affected people. People thought it was that only homosexuals who could catch this virus. Then they were disgusted and did not want to approach people with it when it is only transmissible transmittable through sex or blood. But today there are is an evolution on how in the way people think and see the medical breakthroughs on the virus.

Today, the AIDS is seen differently. On the one hand we have and we do much less aprioris a lot less preconceived ideas . The virus is medically recognized, that is to say, the doctors found medicines to treat the infected person but not to cure it him . There are awareness campaigns for about this virus . Three rugs drugs are combined to be effective against AIDS. This is called triple therapy. It was a turning point in the treatment of AIDS. Even if there is still discrimination against these people, there is much less now and then people are more informed about this virus and how it is transmitted. AIDS is a disease with heavy drugs to take for life but it is drugs are made to learn to live with this disease Je n'ai pas compris la 2ème partie de cette phrase

So we have seen a great evolution on concerning this virus. On the one hand on regarding the prejudices and on the other hand on the drugs prescribed to learn to live with this virus.
