I will tell you about the notion «The idea of progress ». To begin with, I'd like to state give a definition of progress. Progress is the idea that the world and the society can evolve positively in therms of sciences terms of science , technology, modernisation, living conditions etc… However, the idea of progress evolve has evolved positively on VIH concerning HIV . We will first see the VIH study HIV in the past and secondly the VIH HIV evolution of for scientists . What is the evolution of —VIH HIV evolving un society— Has the treatment of HIV evolved in our society ?
.
First of all, AIDS appeared in 1969 by among Haitian workers. But, the first people actually affected were discovered later in 1981. It was something new in the world, which was quickly stereotyped. Indeed, AIDS was associated with homosexuality.
They were most often young gay men.
Following these discoveries, the scientists first thought it was a disease that only affected homosexuals. Scientists will then find found that the disease is was transmitted through blood and intercourse. The people most affected are drug addicts, prisoners, prostitutes, homosexuals, because they have less access to a form of contraception such as condoms. Today in 2020 the state of mind of people changed on about AIDS and AIDS is not associated with homosexuals. In addition, we are no longer afraid of people affected we can talk to them as everyone affected people are by the disease is much more integrated into the population society and supported. AIDS can be said to have evolved in the minds of people.
.
Second Secondly , at the beginning of AIDS, there were many deaths from lack of treatment. It was also a period of sexual liberation. People did not know how this virus spreads and how to avoid it, and did not pay particular attention to the lack of contraceptives. The affected infected people died very young. Today in France, a 20 year old HIV negative man can live up to 58 years and for an HIV negative woman of the same age can live up to 62 years. AT over time, scientists have found a cure. This treatment does not cure HIV / AIDS. Current treatments slow down the progression of the disease and improve the living conditions of the sick. This treatment allows people with AIDS to live longer. It is however a treatment to take every day and which is very heavy. AIDS is therefore a scientific evolution.
.
To conclude, the evolution of mentalities on AIDS has evolved a lot, but especially towards people with AIDS.
