There are different plagues like fowl plague, duck plague, swine plague. For the most part, they have nothing to do with human plague, which can take three forms: bubonic plague, pneumonic plague and septicemic plague.

Symptoms :

Bubonic: is the most common (80% to 93%). It is manifested by a high fever, poor general condition and an enlarged lymph node that drains the bite area of the infected flea. This enlarged and painful lymph node is called a bubo. It can start to fester and then heal. In other cases, the disease progresses to sepsis or lung disease.

Sepsis: Yersinia pestis passes into the bloodstream (15%). Cases develop either after a bubonic form or after direct inoculation of the plague bacillus, e.g. through a cut. The outcome is fatal.

Lung: is the rarest form of infection (less than 5% of cases) and manifests itself as bronchopneumonia with bloody sputum. ++ If treatment is not instituted very quickly, it is fatal within a few days.

The first symptoms appear more or less quickly, from a few hours to five days after contamination, depending on the form.

Healing :

Streptomycin, tetracyclines and and fluoroquinolones are the reference antibiotics for the treatment of the plague. They are perfectly effective antibiotics if given in time.

In the Middle Ages he doctors were dressed in black with a mask in the shape of a beak, they were called beak doctors.
