The French Football Team

The French football team, created in 1904, is the national team that represents France in international men's football competitions, under the aegis of the French Football Federation (FFF). It consists of a selection of the best French players. The players are traditionally called Les Tricolores or Les Bleus.

Currently their trainer is Didier Deschamps.

After having won their first world cup in 1998, they won a second in 2018 and it is this world cup that I will present in this blog.

> The group matches

First, there were the group matches. We were in group C and we played against Australia, where we won 2-1, then against Peru where EDF won 1-0. Finally, the last group match was against Denmark, the match ended in a draw (0-0).

> The knockout matches

Then there were the knockout matches. The first was the knockout stages against Argentina, it was one of the best games, in the 13th minute of play France scored their first goal but just before halftime Argentina returned to a tie. In the second half, Argentina scored from the start and therefore returned to the front (2-1). At the 57 'minutes Pavard scores a superb half-volley at the far post and brings France back to a tie. Finally on the end of the match Kylian Mbappe scores a double and to finish Sergio Agüero reduces the gap a little to 4-3.

Afterwards, there was the quarter-final against Urugay where the French team won 2-0.

In the semi final we faced Belgium. Belgium had possession but Umtiti headed in the 51 '. The score ends therefore on 1-0.

To finish, there was obviously the final against Croatia, on a completely crazy match the French team managed to win 4 to 2 and won their second star
