Covid-19

What is covid-19?

• Coronaviruses are a very large family of viruses, which cause diseases ranging from a simple cold to more severe diseases such as MERS-COV (Coronavirus of the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome) or SARS (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome). The virus was detected in January 2020 by the WHO (World Health Organization). Since March 11, WHO has described the global situation of Covid-19 as a pandemic.

What are the symptoms ?

• It can be fever or a feeling of fever with cough. Sometimes you can lose your sense of smell and for the most serious forms there can be breathing difficulties.

Is there a vaccine?

• Not yet. Many laboratories are working on developing it.

How is the virus transmitted?

• The disease is spread by droplets (those of sneezing or coughing).

What to do:

• wash your hands regularly

• Cough or sneeze into your elbow or handkerchief

• Use and dispose of single-use tissues

• Avoid gatherings, limit travel and contacts (handshakes, hugs)
