Monaco Grand Prix

The Monaco Grand Prix is one of the oldest and one of the three most prestigious courses in the world, disputed in the Principality of Monaco, on an urban circuit designed in 1929, by Antony Noghès. This creation responded to the challenge of organizing a competition in the required territory of Monaco (approximately 1.5 km2 at the time), a condition required by the International Sporting Commission for the Automobile Club of Monaco to be internationally recognized.
The inaugural race was won on April 14, 1929 by William Grover-Williams, driving a Bugatti. After an eclipse of two years without courses, the Monaco Grand Prix resumed in 1955 with a Formula 1 plateau. The race has been featured since that date, each year on the calendar of the Formula 1 world championship.

The Monaco circuit winds around Port Hercule, in the streets of Monte-Carlo and La Condamine, chaining tight turns in the middle of protective rails: there is no clearance between the track and these, unlike the other circuits, which implies the presence of cranes in several places to clear the damaged single-seaters as quickly as possible.
The record for victories on this Formula 1 circuit is held by Ayrton Senna, who has won there six times, five of them consecutively, in ten appearances.
